Civic Engagement

The Center, invested in the growth of social consciousness and commitment to social change advocacy, provides collaborative opportunities between the campus and Scranton communities through networking and volunteer projects.

Some of our projects include our Hairdressers' Project (see Learners and Leaders- Feminist Empowerment Group), our annual Gathering of Friends with women and children at our area Women's Resouce Center, the 2004 and 2008 Voter Education and Registration Fairs, the P.A.C.T. (Promoting Awareness of the College Transition) program with local area high schools, as well as our annual Women's History Month Essay Contest co-sponsored with the League of Women Voters of Lackawanna County.

See our below menu items for a detailed look inside two collaborative projects.
