Overview: Leadership

Learners and Leaders

The Center strives to develop women as life-long learners and confident leaders through skill training, educational opportunities, advocacy training, and a women’s leadership mentoring program.

Learning does not just occur in the classroom. Women's Studies programs have always been designed so that students and faculty learn from one another in a range of educational experiences. The University of Scranton's mission emphasizes the need to create an environment that both supports the personal development of its students and fosters in them habits of excellence in living and learning. To that end, The University of Scranton supports collaboration between the Women's Studies Concentration and the Jane Kopas Women's Center so that we can offer a full range of learning opportunities. By coupling academic learning with experiential learning, we create a seamless environment for learning that recognizes the importance of, and link between, theory and practice.
